How Do I Create a Report?

To create a report:

(1) Click the profile name that you want to perform a computation on. This is very important!

(2) Use one of the following techniques to open the computation panel:

  • Type CTRL-C (hold CTRL and press C)
  • Select Profile->Compute
  • Click CREATE REPORTS button

Look at the panel that appears. In RED at the top, is the name of the profile that's been chosen.

Choose options for the report. If you have Excel installed, you can select "Display results in spreadsheets". You need Excel 97 or newer. The Excel File Viewer will not work.* If you think you have a valid version of Excel installed and the Excel option doesn't appear, you can enable it using Help->Customize.

(3) Click EXECUTE when ready. If you decide to cancel, click CLOSE.

If you have ESPlanner PLUS and have selected Monte Carlo, it may take several minutes to complete the report.

NOTES

Report files are stored in the My Documents\My ESPlanner directory. You can change this directory by selecting Help->Customize. If you have trouble creating reports, check this location.

The LAST report computed will now appear in the profile tree at the bottom. You can view the created report by clicking the type of report in ESPlanner. If you move the report, you will receive an error.

If you want to find the stored name of the report, RIGHT click the profile name and select PROPERTIES. You can also select Profile->Properties.

You can change the space character in the report name using Help->Customize if you get an error opening the file.

Computation results are not updated automatically. To see the affects of changes to your profile, you must re-run the computation.

* ESPlanner uses Excel to create the report via OLE technology in Microsoft Office/Windows. It does not create the Excel file itself.
