There should be a backup function on the ESPlanner toolbar that would put a copy of the current ESPlanner database and the current pdf and Excel output files in a folder of the user's choice.

It's in version 2.11.8 (should be posted sometime today). I think it is also in the current release. See file->exit & save database copy.
