Creating a Reserve Fund
I still don't feel I'm accurately setting up the reserve fund. I want to fund the reserve fund with $200K in step 3 (Fund's value at end of last year, who's only option is 2008) and take this amount and just keep it constant until a terminal date....for example 2043. Would you please advise how I fill in Step 3 and Step 4 to accurate populate the grid. The user guide's explanation is confusing. In essence, I want to put away $200K as emergency $$'s and not spend it on consumption. The last two columns in the grid (net contribution) show negative numbers and I don't understand what that means. Thanks.

I created a Reserve Fund with a prior year balance of $150,000, 0.5% nominal return, 3% inflation, 0% growth rate to maintain $150,000 blanace. The input screen shows Net Contributions of 3,641 for 2010 then for 2011 foward shows 6,429 Net Contributions. I do not understand how the Net Contributions numbers were derived. All calculations that I do outside the program give a different set of numbers. Further, in the Detail report "Reserve Fund" the future contributions are shown as 3,641 for all years.
Additionally, in the detail report "Reserve Fund" shows a contribution of $150,000 for the current year, 2010, which over states Total
Spending on the Main Report by $150,000. I totally do not understand this.
