Well, yes--we actually have 60 up right now, but there's still a few glitches we are working out. You might wait a week to update.
Dan
I'm assuming this still isn't stable. I've tried installing just the 2.19.61 update, and get the "Results Missing" in the PDF report. So I uninstalled the product, downloaded and ran the full install file, but got the same results.
Are others having the same problem?
Check the version of the CE. If you're trying for survivor reports, it has to be 03.07.p19-02 or higher. There was something in the V12 version of the Fortran compiler that caused a latent bug to become a hard bug in the survivor reports.
Best,
Dick Munroe
Dick, I haven't been trying to run survivor reports. However, when I check the CE version it says "Failed to retrive (sic) version. Reinstall ESPlanner."
So now I have uninstalled ESP, reinstalled it, and run the latest 2.19.62 update, and I'm still having the same problems (both "Results Missing" and "Failed to retrive..."
Got any other ideas?
Thanks,
Paul
What version of windows are you running? Be specific because it sounds like the CE and the run time libraries we ship for it don't seem to be very happy with you.
Best,
Dick Munroe
I seem to be having a similar problem. I'm only running ESPlanner (not the Plus version). I see "Results Missing" in the pdf report. When I click on "Get CE version", I receive the failed message. In the Excel report the entries don't match up with my current input.
I started having this problem after updating to the current version (2.19.63). I tried rebooting and re-installing using the latest ESPlanner-INSTALL.exe.
I am running under Windows XP Professional v5.1.2600.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Notice on the What's New? tab when you login (at right) that we are now up to build 63. So perhaps you should try the update and see if that is fixed. Otherwise, I'd suggest creating a support ticket.
I'm running Windows 7, but I'm not at home, so don't have the exact version number. However, it sounds like jennyvw above is having the problem after installing 2.19.63, although she doesn't indicate if she had installed the earlier 2.19.xx versions prior to having the problem.
I hadn't updated in awhile. The next most recent ESPLANNER-update.exe file I downloaded indicates it was version 2.12.2.0.
Based on the comment above, I will look into creating a support ticket.
Thanks
Sorry - just getting caught up on forum
2.18.30 was the previous version. 2.19.64 is the current version. There were a few glitches to work out but it seems to be pretty good at this point.
The biggest change in the configuration which may cause some headaches is the new /data directory which will live (by default) under the My ESPlanner directory. If you see an error like "assets data missing (it was null)" this likely means the assets data update to the database didn't get done properly because that directory didn't get found for whatever reason.
So, please back up your database before you do the update and label it. If you do forget to back it up, it's not the end of the world but you will have to have me manually update it via a support ticket. If you have multiple databases, do a test the first time and if it goes well, you should be all set.
I have tested dozens of configurations and have had no problem so I think this is all worked out now.
Please open a support ticket if you have a problem or you may not hear from anyone for a while.
I'm also getting the "Results Missing" error after installing 2.19.64 and the same after trying 2.19.65.

I'm running XP Pro SP3 with all current updates applied. I've never had this problem in over 2 years of keeping up with the various ESP updates.
Since this has been reported here multiple times, I'm not sure if you need another instance or just the information that it's occurring in .65 as well. If you need me to fill out a support ticket or want me to upload anything, please let me know.
Yep. It appears this latest release is not quite ready to be out of beta test. Maybe it is working for those who were beta testers and upgraded in small increments along the way.
I was running 2.18.31 without incident. I updated to 2.19.66 and tried running my previous profile for comparison. I too, get the "Results Missing" in the PDF reports.
I'll upload the DB for Lowell to "fix" but I would hate to see him fixing databases for every single user out there. There must be a generic problem with the update process somewhere.

In Results Missing Section:
"No output was found from the computation engine. Please verify that you have

I can report that 2.19.66 resolved my problem with "Results Missing". I still receive a "Failed" message on "Get CE Version". Most importantly to me the Excel report seems to be generating properly now. (I didn't mention this symptom above, but I was not seeing data changes propagate to the excel report.)
I had opened a support ticket and provided my db. I didn't receive the db back so I believe the fix is in the software.
Unfortunately, when I run Upside Investing with version 2.19.66, I get that I can spend nothing, need to save over $2B per year, and need negative $2B in life insurance. Something's wrong!
When you hit these sorts of non-sensical results you need to open a support ticket, upload your database and give us a detailed description of and instructions to reproduce your problem. Then we can figure it out. Clearly we don't see these sorts of results in our in house testing.
Best,
Dick Munroe
OK. Just did so.
There was a bad version of the CE run time libraries that got into the release stream in x.62 or so. I found it and fixed in the current release.
The error you would see is "failed to retrieve version" in Help->About->Get CE version and no results at all in the CE log file.
Lowell, You've posted that 2.19.70 is the latest update as of Aug24 but what I downloaded today 5pm PDST 28Aug says 2.19.17. The CE is 03.07.p19-02. Report writer is 1.55
Is this the latest?
James Mavrogenis
Should say 2.19.71, not 2.19.17. I think you have backwards it .
I've discovered that some ISP's don't seem to refresh files often enough so that some people will get the new file when others still get previous versions (since the file name is the same). So, I'm waiting 24 hours after posting the kit to try and avoid confusion.
So, don't worry when you see a newer version number than what's listed.
I just downloaded the update and am getting the "Results Missing" problem. I should know better than to just do an update without checking the forums first.
Do I need to open a ticket or is this simply a known problem without a resolution yet?
Try these suggestions:
http://www.esplanner.com/faq-how-do-i-fix-results-missing
If that doesn't work, open a ticket.
Which "known problem(s) without a resolution" are you referring to? It's a pretty short list, I think.
I'm having the same problem now. When I installed the program to a new computer everything worked fine. I installed the update and now I get results missing. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling version I downloaded the other day without the update, but I still get the problem.
Lowell fixed this in release 2.19.78 which you can download now. The "What's Now" still shows 2.19.77 but your "My Esplanner/Downloads" has 2.19.78
This is a small group of very dedicated and talented people. Sometimes an error gets by them. Just a minor bump in the road.

James Mavrogenis
A very happy customer
Thanks, James
Found a small glitch in the Assets Importer and fixed so now at 2.19.79
