Leaving a "bequest"
My wife and I would like to leave a certain amount of money to our children upon our deaths. I have entered the amount in the estate planning tab under "special bequests". We would really like to leave the amount upon the second death, of my wife or me depending on who dies last, but it can only be inputted specifically against one of us, or an equal amount for both of us.
This results in ESPlanner requiring a huge amount of life insurance, even though we already have more than the bequest amount in assets available today.
What is the best way to handle this with ESPlanner (plus), and can you explain why the life insurance number is so large even though the assets are in hand?
Thanks

Your assets may be enough to cover your bequest, but not enough to cover your bequest and sustain the living standard of your survivors. That's why the program is recommending life insurance.
We don't have last to die insurance programmed into the program. I suggest you specify the bequest just for your wife.
I'll think about how we might be able to add this at some point down the road.
