Minimize/Maximize Bug?
Hi,
I've just started data entry and becoming familiar with eSPlanner+,
I am encouraged by how I see this helping to plan retirement.
Also read "Spend to the End" thx!
I note two issues to mention at the moment:
1) I initially ran a report with MonteCarlo. Many of the data fields
were not complete. After the report completed I noted that the application
seemed to have ended without my exiting. When I tried to restart it, windows reported that it was still running. I had to kill it via the
task manager. Subsequently I was unable to resize the window, which
somehow had become tall and narrow. I could only Maximize to full screen.
After rebooting the window was large and the size could not be changed.
Note: I am running Office 97, Have you seen this behavior prior?
2) There is a report page that shows setting for annuities - it reports
that 0% goes to my wife in event of my death and 75% to me if she dies.
I had set, (and checked), that each of these are 75%. Perhaps just a report issue but I don't know for sure.
I appreciate the application and look forward to mastering it.
Cheers
Dan

When ESPlanner creates a report, the UI minimizes so you can view the report. Look on the task bar, you should see it running and you can re-open the window.
I cannot think of a reason the windows would not resize. You would have to give more specifics on the exact behavior.

I haven't seen this behavior. We'll see if I can reproduce
Regarding the task bar,... esplanner was not present in the task bar.
In fact the task bar was blank.

I tried to resize by placing the cursor at the edge of the window,..
the cursor changed to an arrow as is true with all windows apps,..
I clicked and held the mouse, as usual, and attempted to drag.
The app flashes a bit - and releases the arrow cursor as if the
window is locked,... really I use XP all day, and have for decades.
This was not a user problem.

I can't resize the whole Esplanner window in Windows 7, just maximize it. Any progress on that? Thanks.
Apparently not.
I am a new user as of yesterday. I'm having the same problem of not being able to resize the E$P window. I can change the resize icon in the upper right corner to flip between Maximize and Restopre Down, but when in Restore Down I cannot resize the window to make it smaller than the screen. The cursor changes to a resize double arrow when I cursor over the edge of the window, but it doesn't let me shrink the window. This would be helpful so that I can simultaneously look at spreadsheets in which I have my finacial data and the input fields in E$P. I am using Windows XP Professional SP3 on a Dell Inspiron 600m.
The version of Windows doesn't matter
You cannot re-size the internal windows. You should be able to re-size the
large window.
The treel panel on the far left will expand/shrink

If you're having trouble with the large window, I'll have to see it. Open a support ticket and we'll schedule a session.
I have the problem where I can't resize the large window. Fortunately, I found a work-around. In the guide window, click the box "Stop showing guide". Then click the "Close" button. Now, the large window will resize! This is repeatable every time.
My computer is running Windows XP, all the service packs, letting Microsoft update as it sees fit. It is an HP Pavilion, Athlon 64, 2004 model.

Thanks a million!
I've been having this problem for a while on Win 7 and just ran across your post. "Stop showing guide" was the trick. Now I can resize the main window normally.
