Problems restoring backups

As a safety measure (thankfully) I backup all files to a flash drive. When I exit the program and 'Save and Compress' the database, it asks me where to save it to on the hard drive (which I do) but when I then close the program and reopen it a another time, it opens without saving any of the changes I've made. What do I need to do so that when I open the program, the last saved update opens. thanks, Larry

Apparently, there is a problem occurring where the backup/compression doesn't always occur. I'll rework it.

I have re-worked the database backup/compress/copy as a small app which runs after ESPlanner exits to assure there is no conflict in accessing it. This should resolve the problem.

Sorry for the basic question, but do I have to do anything on my end to implement your changes? Thanks, Larry

No, just choose a directory & filename and it should save a copy

Unable to restore a backup from ext. HD.

It appears to be a straight forward thing; I'm missing something.

Thanks,

Are you trying to make your backup copy your permanent copy that opens when you run ESPlanner? Or are you only trying to open this second copy of your db? Or, are you saying that when you try to open this file it won't open?
