Reserve Fund Report

I asked the program to maintain a constant reserve of 25,000, earning a 4% return and paying 15% tax on income. I would have thought that this would generate 1000 a year in income and a tax of 150, for a net surplus of 850. Instead the reserve fund report shows 121 in annual income and a tax of 3768. The tax is approximately what you would get if the 15% were applied to the entire principal instead of to the earnings on principal. The spending report then shows me spending 3647 per year to replenish the fund. I'm new to the program and perhaps missing something, but I don't get it.

Congratulations, you win a genuine, NO PRIZE (Copyright Marvel Comics) for finding a weirdness. We've decided a couple of things looking at your issue. First, that the user interface for the reserve fund management is a little confusing. We've redesigned that and hope to have the new interface out in a not-too-far-distant update.

The second thing is the column in the reports detailing tax payments for your reserve fund. Ignore that completely. This is an artifact from the very early design of the program and should have been removed a long time ago. This too will be change in the not-too-far-distant future, but will probably happen after we get the reserve fund interface changes in place because we have to muck with the report formats and that takes a bit more time.

Thanks for your patience.
