Retirement Account Assets Detail

We are allowed to enter the details of our individual account balances in six different boxes (401k, Keogh, IRAs, SRAs, Employer Accounts, Roth IRAs). Yet none of the results show the detail of the growth or drawdown of these different categories. Something, such as the Retirement Accounts tab in the detail spreadsheet should show this detail.

This detail is shown in the inputs area of the PDF and summarized in the output from the computation

What I am looking for is the year-by-year income, withdrawals, and resulting balance by each of the six account types. Are you saying that is in the PDF? I do not see that detail anywhere.

No, this is not differentiated by these six accounts. Internally ESPlanner aggregates retirement accounts into three distinct "pots". The first pot is all the miscellaneous types of 401ks funded by the individual. The second is the 401k funded (perhaps only in part) by the employer. The third is the Roth 401k.

The reports further aggregate all these pots into a single number and the cash flow is reported relative to that number.

You can control which of the pots gets used first, but we don't show you the actual dollar amounts from each pot, only the aggregates of all pots.

I'll put this on the list for discussion for inclusion in a later update.

Best,

Dick Munroe

Understood ... just trying to get it added to the wish list.
