General requirements for ESPlanner
- Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows Vista (all editions) Windows 95 and Windows 98 are not supported
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 or better.
- (optional) Excel 97 or newer. If you have a version of Mircosoft Excel installed, you may also have reports generated in that format. (We do not support other spreadsheet applications at this time).
While ESPlanner is not directly supported on the
Macintosh, it can be run using at least two of the commercially available IBM
PC emulators. Details of the installation of
ESPlanner on the PowerPC Macintosh using
VirtualPC are documented here. We have tested
the Duo Core Macintosh support for ESPlanner using Parallel's Desktop for
Macintosh and find that to work also. While we have not tested Apple's
BootCamp, it should be capable of running ESPlanner as well. We do not provide
technical support for VirtualPC or any Macintosh OS or software. Once you have
Windows up and running on your Macintosh system technical support for
ESPlanner is available.

ESPlanner is not directly supported on Linux
platforms either, but it can be run using at least one of the commercially
available IBM PC emulators for RedHat Linux.

Linux using VMWare are
documented here. We do not provide technical support
for VMWare or any Linux distribution or software. Once you have Windows up and
running on your Linux system technical support for
ESPlanner is available.

Both ESPlanner and
ESPlannerPlus are computationally and memory
intensive. They will run on a wide variety of hardware configurations but the
time you spend waiting for results will be substantially reduced if
ESPlanner is run on a fast processor with lots
of memory. We recommend a machine with a minimum of a 500 megahertz processor
with 512 megabytes of memory.
